Color Run! Race Recap

Where to even begin...

They call this the "Happiest 5K on the Planet" and it really really is.

My friend Lauren was able to pick up my race packet for me on Friday which was awesome, so I can't tell you much about the EXPO. However, a lot of the things that were available for purchase at the EXPO were available at the Finish Line Festival.

In our race packet - or goodie bag - we received our t-shirt, race number, head band, and a packet of color to throw at the finish. Out of habit I usually order a Medium race shirt as I find that most  technical race shirts run tight. However, these were cotton and ran large. I was wishing I was wearing a small but the weather was pretty crisp and I had to wear a long sleeve underneath and having the extra room came in handy.

We were in a sea of white waiting for the race to start. Music was blasting, people were dancing, everyone was ready to party.

Set up like typical race water stops, we ran through "color stops" and got covered with a certain color.

We were colorful messes at the end.

The after party was SO. MUCH. FUN. More music, more dancing, more color, more fun.

ORGANIZATION: Everything seemed to go off without a hitch. That big white sea got let go in "waves" so we weren't too crowded on the course. They had a great MC keeping the energy up.

COURSE: The course was awesome. It wound through National Harbor in Maryland in its clean and cute downtown area. There were  a lot of supportive fans out cheering but there was so much energy on the course, most of the support on the periphery was a blur.

This was not a course to really race on. This was meant to have a good time, and that we did. Congrats to all the finishers!!!

Make sure to catch Color Run when it stops in your neighborhood! See a schedule here.
