Today's Workout: 5 miles easy, around the National Mall with a friend before work.

Static exercises are a great way to target specific muscles, really feel the burn, and achieve that much-desired toned look. These are great to do when you do not have access to a gym. I like doing them in front of the TV for a little distraction.
Essentially, you will get into the exercises position, and rather than repeating the motion a set number of times, you will hold for a specified length of time.
Warning - if you do it right, you will be shaking!
Squat
Forward Lunge (do each leg separately)
Side Lunge (do each leg separately)
Push Ups (note: the different push up positions will work different muscles)
Try doing 90 seconds of each position. If that seems too difficult, try a minute. Every time you do this workout, try to add 15 seconds until each pose.
