Orlando - Where we stayed

Today's Workout: 45 min interval workout on the treadmill over my lunch break

While in Florida, our family stayed in a 3 bedroom condo in the Hilton Grand Vacations Club Resort. Everything about the accommodations were fantastic.

First of all, they layout is great for a family like ours (or even a bigger one as both my room and the room my brother and sister-in-law used had an additional double bed that wasn't used).

The floor plan was open, and included 3 baths, a full kitchen (with dishwasher and all other necessary appliances), a dining area, a living room, a screened-in porch, and laundry facilities.

My parents, of course, got the master suite which had a king sized bed, a HUGE whirlpool bathtub (in the room!), a large closet, private access to the balcony, and a large bathroom.

My brother and sister-in-law took the next largest room that had two doubled beds, a private bath, and a small kitchenette area which included a mini-fridge and sink.

I took the last room which also had two double-beds, two closets, and two dressers. Each room had it's own TV, its own overhead fan and plenty of room. My bathroom was located outside the room.

The kitchen had all the essential utensils, plates, and devices. The kitchen is great when traveling in a large group when everyone is not on the same eating schedule as it allows for guests to throw together meals/snacks as needed. It is also nice to make your own batches of margaritas, which we did on the reg, without paying resort prices.

The dining table was big enough for the family, as was the living room.

It was  great to have such a comfortable home base while on vacation without feeling like you're walking all over each other.

I think this sort of set-up would also be ideal for younger groups traveling (like for bachelorette parties) where it is fun to have everyone under one roof without having to sleep 4 to a bed.

The grounds of the resort were beautifully maintained, and the staff were incredibly friendly. There are almost too many amenities to mention, but I'll throw out a few that made the biggest impression on us. The club house is the resorts home base and has so many gems. There are two larger pools and a kiddie pool area behind the club house (each condo building has a private pool behind it as well), a fitness center, a child activity center, a restaurant and bar, a convenience store, an ice cream shop, a pizza place, a 50-person movie theater that shows films nightly, basketball and tennis courts, a mini-golf course, and a playground to name a few. The club house was  a short walk from our condo building, but the resort offers transportation via golf cart drivers for all guests.

The resort is located approximately equal distance from Disney and Universal so you are right in the mix, and a tour bus is offered to all the hot spots.
